We were once again privileged to host the Mighty Oaks Warriors for a zipline canopy tour earlier this week.
The Mighty Oaks Warriors Program is a remarkable faith-based nonprofit program dedicated to helping military veterans and active military personnel achieve post-traumatic stress (PTS) reintegration, with an emphasis on family healing. The participants all suffer from PTS or combat trauma. In addition to the core teaching programs, the participants enjoy bonding activities such as fishing, climbing, horseback riding and ziplining.
The program is based at SkyRose Ranch, right here in the Paso Robles wine country. You can learn more at the Mighty Oaks web site, and we also encourage you to read this Forbes.com piece on the program.
The current program participants will be honored at a graduation ceremony on Friday, December 12, and the public is invited to attend. For info on attending the graduation, please email mightyoaksinfo(at)servingcalifornia.org.
Also on Friday, we are partnering with KZOZ 93.3 FM radio to sponsor a charitable station takeover on behalf of Mighty Oaks. Listeners can call in and “buy” song requests–any song, any genre, any donation is accepted. Please tune in and help us raise funds for this incredible organization that is making a difference in the lives of military veterans and active military personnel!
