San Luis Obispo County is a red-hot destination this spring. From the sands of Pismo Beach to the vineyards of Paso Robles, our region is humming with excitement.
Enter Santa Margarita, the quaint little hometown of Margarita Adventures, located right in the heart of SLO County. This is a place where you can slow down your pace and even take a step back in time.
On that note, here are some recommended things to do in Santa Margarita, California while you’re in town for your zipline tour:
Ancient Peaks Winery
We are biased with this pick, because Ancient Peaks Winery is in the same ownership family as Margarita Adventures! But Ancient Peaks’ track record for amazing wines stands on its own. Located just across the street from us, the Ancient Peaks tasting room and café is a must-do after your zipline adventure. Grab a bite and enjoy wine from the vines you just zipped over!
The Range Restaurant
The Range is a local’s favorite for a reason. Combining amazing contemporary fare with a vintage throwback vibe, this family-owned and operated restaurant is a can’t-miss dining experience. Show up early to avoid a long wait and make sure you bring cash—they don’t take credit cards. Pro-tip: you can also try the Jackson family’s Rosalina’s Cantina, also in Santa Margarita.
Rinconada Trail Hike
This four-mile hike begins off Pozo Road near Santa Margarita Lake. It zigzags through grassy slopes with wide-open views of the Santa Lucia Mountains as well as Pozo Valley. This hike ranges from easy to moderate, and instead of turning around at the two-mile point at Little Falls, you can extend your adventure down the Little Falls Trail if you are feeling spunky.
Home Santa Margarita
Home is the only store in San Luis Obispo County to offer the “Magnolia Home Furniture” line created by none other than Joanna Gaines. Home is sweet and cozy with gifts for just about anyone!
The Barn – Antiques Unique
Enjoy a few laughs, find great collectibles and antiques, and even some local artisans crafts. You may be here for a while, so come prepared.
Santa Margarita Lake Recreation & Natural Area
Santa Margarita Lake Recreation & Natural Area is home to an abundance of hiking opportunities that yield sweeping views, including the easy Blinn Ranch trail and the moderate Grey Pine Trail.
The Porch Café
Looking for a quick bite, sandwich, coffee or refreshment? The Porch has you covered!
